What parents were saying:

Hello Desert Theatricals,

I again wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for you all.  I am the mother of a 7 year old girl who loves to sing & dance and has a huge heart for musical theater.  She had never been involved in a theatrical production until Seussical Musical, Jr.

Initially, I was rather nervous to make the commitment to the rehearsal schedule.  In addition to other after school commitments, her schedule left her with 2 hour practices 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  My thought was, “well, we will see if she likes musical theater as much as she seems to!”  But truthfully, I was terrified at the thought of her getting worn out or losing interest and having to drag a tired little girl to rehearsals 3x’s a week!

Well, I needn’t have worried about that whatsoever! She would often wake up in the morning and ask eagerly if it was a Seuss day.  She would not only act out the Who scenes, but also imitate other roles, which showed me how much she was learning from watching her more seasoned cast mates. We would listen to the music so much in the car that her older brother could have been an understudy for anyone in the production. By week 3, she was wishing out loud for Seuss rehearsals “everyday”.

I’m not sure how you did it, but in 6 weeks, you managed to produce a top notch production starting children, while keep them excited and engaged (culminating in 3-4 hour rehearsals after long school days!), and spark an even bigger fire in my daughter’s musical heart.  Ondean is now saying she wishes the show was “every night”.

I can’t thank you all enough for making this experience so rewarding, and hope you all much deserved success in the coming years!

Looking very forward to the DVD!!

Gratefully,

Lindsey Bowman
