Sondheim’s masterful tale that garnered 10 Tony nominations and 3 wins blends multiple fairy tales into a moral and whimsical narrative, showing that achieving one’s desires can lead to both joy and hardship, and that cooperation and courage are essential in overcoming challenge.  What could possibly happen in the woods as the Baker and his wife search for the ingredients to remove a spell so that they might have a child.   Into the Woods and Out of the Woods we must begin the journey!

This Classic Broadway beloved musical was originally produced in 1965, and stars local favorite, Charles Herrera.  While awaiting a hearing with the Inquisition, Cervantes presents a play as his defense in a mock trial for the prisoners. In it, he plays Alonso Quijano, a man who has set his own reality aside and become Don Quixote De La Mancha. Assisted by his "squire" Sancho Panza, Quixote attempts to avoid his mortal enemy, and woo the serving wench, Aldonza, who he takes to be the Lady Dulcinea.  The ending delivers one of the greatest songs of all time,  The Impossible Dream!
